Early Childhood
Encouraging Curiosity
Emerson Waldorf’s Early Childhood approach provides an opportunity for 3-5 year olds to wonder in a stress-free, screen-free, natural environment.
Morning Garden Parent-Child Class
Young children and parents are welcomed into our beautiful forest classroom and nursery playground for a nourishing morning of play, song, meaningful work, and community. Parents learn techniques to support their child’s unfolding capacities and to create a healthy and balanced home life through guidance and demonstration.
Preschool
Waldorf preschool is steeped in wonder and imagination where learning and joy live as one and the same. Children bake, sing, paint and explore the wonders of nature in every season. Through a play-based curriculum, Waldorf lays the groundwork for skills that are needed to succeed later on in academic studies. Through daily rhythms of free play, outdoor time, circle time, story time, handwork and practical activities, children exercise their creative muscles, develop fine motor skills and create a strong foundation for their emerging literacy skills.
Kindergarten
We offer three kindergarten classes; each class has a Lead Waldorf-trained Teacher and an Assistant. Classes have 12 – 16 children who are 4 and 5 years old. This mixed-age-group approach allows the younger children to observe and experience various festivals and projects. The older children are given extra developmentally-based artistic and practical projects and responsibilities. We encourage children to attend for two years.
